you wanna know |
2002-05-06 |
geez louise... i'm tired (pronounced: tarred) and there's so much left in this day. at least i can honestly say that i've earned the tiredness this time rather than it be the result of my lack of energy due to one or more lazy reasons. wanna hear about my weekend? there's really not much to tell. friday after work i headed southeast at the average speed of 90 mph. i say average cause i went faster when the mitsubishi was in front of me and slower when i was in the lead. (i'd like to state here that it is extremely rude to speed-buddy for 140 miles and then exit without so much as a "what-what" raised eyebrow!) once i got to wilmington (b.k.a. the Hollywood of the South) i had to fend for myself as my directions were basically "turn right at a tree, drive a few minutes, veer left at the fence, drive a few minutes, turn right." notice the lack of street numbers? street names? addresses? even a phone number? well, i definitely noticed as i deftly steered myself through wilmington, down to holden beach with no directional mishaps. i even got myself within a mile of my mysterious destination before i put out the S.O.S. once i found the other hip young females (really the only group of hip young females for miles either way), we promptly headed out for Jim's Barbecue, which boasted a pig pickin' each and every friday and saturday night. suffice it to say i will never eat at Jim's Barbecue again. saturday found me and petitely-pregnant M lazing on opposite couches watching old cartoons and drinking fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. once everyone ambled out of their respective sleeps and into the small living room, we burnt muffins and bagels (some of us opting for the carb-less omelet) and prepared for a day of non-stop shopping. i suppose this is the place to say i spent an inordinate amount of money in the Indepence Mall. well, it was a combo Independence Mall-Target bonanza of wallet-shocking porportions. but, i'm totally rocking one of my new purchases today: a garnet and turquoise necklace/choker deal. it looks damn good against my darkening skin, too! saturday night i feasted on steak and grilled shrimp, with A occasionally sharing her succulent snow crab legs (mmm, i like the pink part!) - a delicacy i had yet to try. after dinner, it was a long 10-foot-print walk on the beach, followed by pajamas, ice cream and the end half of an officer and a gentleman. i believe we were all quite embarrassed when the last of us tucked in for the night at midnight, but Hey! we're old! (okay, so m's the oldest and she's only a month older than me) yesterday involved not-burnt muffins and a smooth, quick jaunt back inland to my fine, cozy little home in central NC. after a warm nap, i trotted on over to the boy's house for (more!) steak and potatoes. after dinner we cuddled on the couch while watching yellow finned tuna swirl in circles while avoiding the swordfish and whales intent on consuming them. when i openned my eyes (oh, yeah, i passed out early on) it was time to fetch the Chunky One and head home. by the time i got there, the boy had already arrived and was unpacking my toiletries. i came in, put the Chunk to bed and collapsed on the couch as he yammered on about wasting q-tips. he woke me up for the Jamie Kennedy Experiment (which SUCKS) and i forced myself into the shower. 2 hours and sweet, warm, nice-to-see-you-again sex later, i was cuddling again, this time in utter darkness as deep sleep finally washed over me. i dreamt of marine deserts, riki rachtman, and mer-men. [i'd like to mention here that 85 percent of my saturday was spent donning a pearl and blue ribboned tiara because Yes I am (!) a princess]
you got something to say?
