i think i should comment on this interpretation of my earlier entry: "I have to comment on your entry regarding the holocaust today...I don't think so, my dear. I don't recall the Jews terrorizing anyone. And did you know that Iraq and Saudia Arabia are PAYING the families of the suicide bombers? They are being condoned by world powers. Why would they stop?" my response: "i'm not comparing anything to the Holocaust. six million innocent lives were lost in the Holocaust. there is no comparison. but, there is ethnic cleansing going on right now. it's happening all over the world and we, the Great Americans, are funding most of it. yes, i know suicide bombers are paid. i also know there are bombs on both sides and these deaths are indiscriminate after race/religion. men, women, children: they are all killed equally. by both sides. there is no ultimate evil. there is no absolute right. but there are some shady practices going on right now and i will not condone them simply cause my government pays for them."
and, on further examination, i must say that the nation of Israel is responsible for crimes of terror as much as any other nation is. they are not innocent. there are no innocents - not even us cushy americans typing away from our 9-5 jobs without fear of being exploded simply because we exist.
i would also like to assert that neither iran nor saudi arabia are world powers. look at the politico-economic situation of both countries. they are insiginificant in world terms.
this "conflict" did not start today. it didn't start with the israeli junta. it didn't start with the fatah movement.
i just hope it doesn't end with the voices of the Disappeared screaming at us across decades and oceans - voices that speak in more than one language and demand our attention.
